Chasquis, Red Rock was beautuful this morning!! Great sun rise, warm even, perfect for the sufferfest up into Oak Creek Canyon. Oak Creek Trail in and of itself isn't too difficult. It's when you head up into the canyon that kills. You don't even run! No sir. You end up bouldering, but it is great for building leg strength. Those of you who are gym rats would liken this type of bouldering to plyometrics. It's pretty fun.
Anyway, things are definitely on for this Saturday morning to run the Late Night Beginner Trail off of Blue Diamond Road. I wish I could give better directions other than it is the only parking lot off of Blue Diamond Road, or Hwy 160, that is on the North (right side) of the hwy. It is currently under construction. That might make it easier to find. At least it was under construction about 10 days ago, they are enlarging and improving the lot. You can't miss it.
Here is the link to some of the particulars of this morning's run.
