We Are Going To Be a Team

There really are some Chasquis out there!! Sweet!!

Congrats to those who ran the Cirque du Soleil 5k at the Springs Preserve on Sat. Lets hear some race stories if there are any. JB-how much ice did you have to use after the run?

Mason- a small? Are you kidding me? We might have to have a conference to see if we are going to allow skinny, fit, tall guys to race on the team. Damn JB, we gotta get skinny don't we.

Bree- welcome to the blog, good to hear from you. Let us know what is up in St George.

I'm thinking a team party is in order as the weather is starting to be nicer. We need to get know each other if we are going into battle together. We'll do this at my house, more info. to come.

Sam and Mindi- do you guys even bother with 5ks? I'll bet you can't even get warmed up in 5k!!
That's cool, keep it up. I still want to run with you guys, I'll even throw my leg over a top tube and ride with you if your gonna bike at all.

Keep up the blog banter, I love it!

I'm pretty enthused after running the 5K at the Preserve. My shins were achey and breakey the two days leading up to it. They were even sore the morning of the race. I did some nice stretching and then strapped 'em down with some braces and I was off. Much to my surprise, not only did I finish the run in under 30 minutes, but I ran at a 9:33 pace! Unheard of for me. I didn't have a chance to ice down too much after the race, which is likely why I have been in pain ever since. Oh well.

Morg - you need to hook up with Mindi and Sam; they biked around Lake Mead over the weekend.

Sam. Mindi- Is this true? Nice ride. The only time I have ridden out at the Lake is for the Tour de Fire. I like it out there, but it is like you guys coming to run trails at Red Rock; I need a passport to get there, it's a long ways to the lake.

JB- Well done on the 5k!

So, I've been giving it some deep thought, and I think the only plausible cause of my aching shins is that I am over training. I am pretty far ahead of schedule and perhaps I have just been running too far and body hasn't been used to it. I think I'm gonna take this week off and start up again on Saturday, wherever the training schedule tells me I should be. Hopefully that will work!
