LV Half Marathon

If anyone is as diligent as Chasqui Jordan and checked the LV Half Marathon results, you would not find my name, or better yet, you wouldn't find my results. Having only gotten 4 1/2 hours sleep the night before, I was in a bit of a fog Sunday morning and forgot to affix my timing chip to my shoe laces. I have long been critical of these timing chips that are "on their own". It used to be, in the beginning of electronic timing, the magnetic chip was part of your race bib/number. That was a long time ago kiddies. Like vinyl records. Anyway, you pin your number on and you are ready to go. Well, I forgot my chip, but my Garmin worked perfectly. So here is my Garmin file for the 1/2 marathon on Sunday.

Yes, I ran and had a great race. My first 7 miles were sheer running nirvana. Avg of 7:35 per mile, it was warm (at least compared to last year), I was in a nice zone. Not having enough base miles in my legs, mile 7 saw Chasqui Morgan start to unravel. Avg pace crept up to 7:55 and by mile 10 the wheels were coming off. Avg pace hit 8:00 minute miles and I was hurtin'. Finished in 1:46.22. 2 minutes faster than last year's half marathon. I am totally geared up for the Painters 1/2 marathon in January. I know JB is signed up for this, it would be really cool to get a nice sized group of Chasquis to head up to Dixie to run this one.
