Alright Chasquis, a little something different. Some are deep into their training for Del Sol. Good on ya, keep it up. Here is something that can aid in your training and racing performance in a BIG way.
Hammer Nutrition put out other great products, but I choose the best one to start off a "product review" series. Simply put, up to an hour after a training effort, mix up 2 scoops of Recoverite in some water and you are on your way to awesomeness. After a training effort, you have about an hour and a half to replenish glycogen stores and start the recovery process. I just turned 40 and the recovery process has become incredibly important. I have used Recoverite for about 3 1/2 years now. I use it at swim meets, after training runs, cycling rides, and any competition I enter. It did wonders during Ragnar Wasatch Back. I was never sore during Ragnar, nor was sore afterwards. I believe the use of Recoverite made all the difference.
Use the link on the side bar to Hammer Nutrition and you can find all the nutritional information should you desire. I just know it works and works well. Try it out. With longer runnning legs in Del Sol, Recoverite will do you right.

BTW- I'm running Late Night Beginner Trail tomorrow morning. 5:45 at the parking lot/ trail head
off of 160. I hope to do 2 laps, about 7.5 miles.
Hey Morgan! What does the recoverite taste like?? Does it taste good? Or does it take some getting used to? I've tried lots of drinks but I've had a hard time finding one that actually tastes good...
Let me know!

Liesel- In 25 years of using athletic supplements, "good tasting" doesn't exist. There is "oh my hell, I'm going to hurl this tastes so bad" and there is "ok, I only threw up a little in my mouth" taste.
Recoverite has what I call a "neutral" flavor. It contains enough protein for recovery that it is hard to make it taste super delicious. I have learned to tolerate those supplements that don't taste totally great in hopes that the rewards of a good recovery will help performance.
You can always mix it with a ton of stuff. Throw it in a blender with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a little soy milk......ooooohh so yummy. Enjoy!
Thanks for the info. I might have to give it a try. I really need a good protein recovery drink. I've tried several and they are just so hard to get down - maybe someday I'll get used to the flav.
