Chasqui J.B. Checking In

Well it sure seems like forever ago that I last posted on this thing, and I can't quite figure out why. I guess with the use of Facebook and Daily Mile, both of which seem to advertise our training triumphs quite adequately, there wasn't much "new" news to put on the blog. What makes a blog cool though, is the people that write on it. So basically it's coolness depends on us! Let's hear from you!

Work has absolutely been wiping me out over the past 3-4 months. I've been exhausted and pretty uninspired. In all honesty, it's been tough getting excited for Ragnar SoCal. I know that sounds drastic, but in a sense, it's true. Don't get me wrong - I know it's going to be an absolute blast. Ragnar always is, but I guess the excitement has temporarily worn off as a result of looking forward to it ever since what, Ragnar Las Vegas? That's a long time to remain stoked about something.

I'll tell you what I HAVE notice though...never has the Chasqui spirit been stronger than it has been over the past few months. Chasquis out there are going crazy with their training and runs. I mean, let's just take a quick snapshot of what everyone is doing.
  • We've got Belinda, Warren and Mason training for and running half-marathons at insane paces.
  • We've got Aaron and Morgan out running at the butt-crack of dawn before daily obligations grab a hold of them.
  • We've got McKay knocking out like 20 miles per week.
  • We've got Dennis fighting sickness, raising twins and getting through tax season and still having energy left to put in miles each week.
  • We've got Mikey C. who recently got hitched and is getting work done up in St. George.
  • We've got Paul who, I have no clue what he's doing, and it doesn't matter cause he's going to run like a freaking maniac come Ragnar anyway.
  • We've got DeEtte who no longer does these lame, local 5k races cause she's putting in 14 miles on any given Saturday.
  • We've got Weintzy, who's been absolutely dominating the Red Rock Visitors Loop on his bike on a weekly basis as he trains for the Dana Point Grand Prix Time Trial on April 10.
  • And last but not least, we've got new Chasquis, Jocelyn and Taylor who we are going to be good to go for Ragnar SoCal.
Read that list of things that we're all doing as race day draws near. Yep...chalk my name down under the "INSPIRED" category. If that doesn't inspire you, you're just not gonna get inspired.

We're just under one month out from race day; it may be time to start up the Chasqui Picture of the Day tradition again.

Stay tuned tomorrow.

GO TEAM CHASQUI!!!!!!

Officially Inspired! Ragnar is about to get thrashed by the Chasqui's once again. I feel the Chasqui fever growing, and I have a feeling it can't be stopped...
