Talk about surprises. While everyone fared just fine, I'm not sure anyone was anticipating the terrain we encountered on this race. Because the race description warned, "Don't plan on setting a personal best time on this course", I was expecting some mild rollers and not much more. Instead, it seemed like for the entire race we were either running straight up or straight down.
It was great though, and if anything, a huge confidence builder. Chasqui Morgan worked it as usual, finishing sixth overall and first in his age group. Warnie also had a solid showing, and likely would have finished in the top 10 had he not missed the turn-off sign for the 10k. He ran 2 more miles more than anyone else though, so big ups to him. Our Chasqui girls had a strong showing as well, as Chasquis Kara (who heretofore will be referred to as 'Boston') and Amber both sailed along like they owned the race. Dennis and I brought up the end of the Chasqui finishers but we were both pleasantly surprised with our finishing times and average pace.
Final timesEnjoy the pics (unfortunately no decent ones were taken during the race...sorry Amber)
