Painter's 1/2 Marathon...

Okay! Okay! Nothin' like a little pressure to post about a race! My husband, Paul, and I both ran the Painter's 1/2 Marathon. It was my first time running this race and Paul's first 1/2 marathon ever. Paul was prepared for the race and super anxious for race day. I've taken a slight break from running since the October St. George Marathon and wasn't sure I could pull it off. But, Paul signed us both up for the race and I decided I was going to make myself do it to prep for Del Sol. Race day was gorgeous! The weather was excellent! Paul and I happened to meet up with Chasqui Warren at the start line which was great. There were something like 1500 runners for this race which kind of surprised me. The course was okay - lots of rollers, nothing to steep and mostly on paved trails. Paul felt good and came in with an amazing time of 1:37. For his first 1/2 marathon I thought that was pretty good!! (He's considering running Ragnar LA with team Chasqui) I finished with a time of 1:47 which was all right. It's a good 7 minutes slower than my fastest 1/2, but I wasn't prepared like I should have been either...so I'll take it. That's Painter's 1/2 in a nutshell. Warren better post too! Now it's on to Del Sol. I can't believe it's next month. I am super excited and can't wait. Between now and then I promise to get goin' with my training! No SLACKING!! Hopefully I'll see and meet other fellow Chasquis at Jordan's house Feb. 7th!
