Tips for running in the heat

I was up at my dad's ranch in central Utah over the weekend and did a quick 3.5 mile run to see how my lungs held up in the altitude. I was running at between 6600 and 6800 feet and was totally feeling it. It was pretty rough the first three miles, but I felt pretty good for the last .5.

That's not even my point! My point is that weather is freaking crazy and that I have no idea what to expect during our race. I was thinking 85-90 degree heat during the day. However, when I ran at the ranch this past weekend, it was about noon and it was about 58 outside. Anyway, here are dome good tips to running in heat.

Also, I finally found some cushy shoes that don't aggravate my shins with every step!! I love them! If you have some severe downhill running to do, I would highly recommend them. Behold, the Nike Zoom Air Vomero 3.

Thanks for the tips for running in the heat! I am in Iowa and the weather is so unpredictable. It was 90 on Saturday and 60 today. I don't think I will ever adjust.

We watched the weather forecast last night, and it said that next friday & saturday (the race) will be 90 degrees. I guess it could change, but it looks like we'll be running in the heat!

Thanks for the head's up, Mase! I'm stoked for some grueling heat running. You gonna be able to hit up that Captain's meeting on the 12th?
