Santa Barbara
I think all will agree, Is there any more beautiful city than Santa Barbara? No, and in case you disagree, your wrong. All the Chasquis met at Pasucci's ( I think that was the name) and had an awesome pre-race meal. Well except for the Brothers Carter, (yes Dennis you need running shoes for a running race), and Sisters Brown, Jamie and Amber. They arrived much later, no, even later than that. Nice chance for everyone to get introduced to the those other Chasquis they didn't know. Full belly. Must be time for bed. The morning was cool, overcast, and damp.
The Chasquis met at the Beachbreak Cafe for race morning fueling. How legit are the red Chasqui sweatshirts? We stood out everywhere and struck fear and intimidation in the hearts of all our competitors. Now to marshal all our provisions and head for the start line.
Is there a mess of fuel in this photo? Is that JB and the Sistas Brown? Yes, and yes. Thanks to Marge up at Dixie Nutrition for powering Team Chasqui. She hooked us up with a lot of stuff. Proud to rep Dixie Nut. Van 1 loaded, van 2 loaded, let's do this thing! The start was located right on the beach in Santa Barbara. The lake in Ariz was cool, but it wasn't the beach. I gotta admit and ask the question, was anyone else nervous? I was. I get that way just prior to an event. I love the anticipation.
The 10 am start time was upon us, Warren was in the start corral, the countdown started and BAM!! Chasquis away.

The way it read on Twitter it sounded like John Mayer. Yes, that is correct, in was Scotty. Him i didn't dispatch of. I like the JM story though. Can I stick with it?
I'm all excited to do it again. Most scenic ragnar to date!I guess they changed the name to "Ragnar SoCal" next year...call it whatever you want,as long as we get permits to run down the coast it's fine with me.
Morg, I am going to run the stake 5K with JB and the crew. Cool if we reschedule "Around the Mountain"?
